A word about cost: in addition to the rising overheads any small business must incorporate into the price of its product, we rely on the skills and talents of our international team of master craftsmen and women. Our commitment to the highest standards extends to sourcing the best raw materials, often necessitating travel abroad to hand select our timbers and veneers. Most of our pieces are one-offs and limited edition, and extremely labour-intensive; each new design presents diverse challenges to overcome, at the drawing board, in the workshop, and in the finishing room. The client meetings, design process and prototyping, inherent parts of the commissioning process, figure into our cost. Our proposals include a fixed price, so, even if we underestimate the hours/days/weeks a commissioned piece may take, the client is always certain of the final cost. It is not uncommon for us to increase the price of a piece the second time we make it, with the added knowledge of the actual time it has taken to complete.
