Studio furniture makers zelouf+BELL and their team of master craftsmen have been producing award-winning custom furniture in their workshop in Ireland since 1992, exporting worldwide. Their work is in private collections, public offices, embassies and museums, at home and abroad. Meticulous attention to detail, carefully chosen materials combined with the highest level of craftsmanship articulate the ethos of zelouf+BELL: sophistication grounded in restraint.

From dining tables to complete interiors of homes, public spaces, churches, conference rooms and Embassy residences abroad, zelouf+BELL continues to fulfill orders for a roster of prestigious clients. Working mainly to commission, we establish and fulfill the client’s brief, based on their requirements, which has, over the years, resulted in a portfolio of constantly evolving work. This has often allowed us the opportunity to design, make and manage large scale projects, including commissions to design and make the furniture for a Dublin penthouse, an apartment in Luxembourg, a luxury vacation home in Kinsale, conference furniture for the refurbished Irish Stock Exchange, the Cabinet Room in Dublin’s Government Buildings, a private fishing lodge in Galway, Embassy of Ireland Residences in Tokyo, Canberra, Berlin, Brussels, Lisbon, The Hague, Ottawa, and the Residence of the Joint Secretary, Belfast. The National Museum of Ireland at Collins Barracks has just acquired their second piece from zelouf+BELL, a third commission planned for early 2012.

zelouf+Bell’s extensive portfolio is a result of two decades of making furniture to commission. Belfast born Michael Bell left a career in the tobacco industry to make one off pieces. American voice artist Susan Zelouf‘s background in music explains her ‘call and response’ approach to the design process. Serious in the world, without taking themselves too seriously, zelouf+BELL believe that objects resonate, ensouled with the intention of the maker.
